The first St Paul's Cathedral was built in 605.
The current Cathedral – the fourth to occupy the same site – was designed by the court architect Sir Christopher Wren and finished in 1710 after its predecessor was destroyed in the Great Fire of London in 1966.
The cathedral is 110m high from the floor to the top of the cross of the dome.
Climb 259 steps up the dome and you will find The Whispering Gallery, which runs around the interior of the Dome.
The name comes from its construction, which makes a whisper against its walls audible on the opposite side.
